Frequently Asked Questions
What is IPTV?
In the modern age of technology, television content can be delivered in several ways. One of the most impactful systems is IPTV, or Internet Protocol Television. As the name suggests, it is delivered via the Internet Protocol. By using a broadband connection, content is transmitted in data packets, allowing for a highly flexible and interactive viewing experience.
What are the benefits of IPTV?
IPTV offers several advantages over traditional cable or satellite. It is highly cost-effective and provides a versatile platform for telecommunications providers to offer new, profitable services. For the user, it means more control over what they watch and when they watch it.
What is an Android TV Box?
An Android TV box is essentially a mini PC running the Android operating system. It allows you to run various apps, including media players like Kodi, directly on your television.
What is Kodi?
Kodi (formerly XBMC) is a free and open-source media player developed by the Kodi Foundation. It is available for multiple operating systems and hardware platforms, featuring a “10-foot user interface” designed specifically for use with TVs and remote controls. You can learn more at www.kodi .tv
Should I use Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
We always recommend using a hardwired Ethernet connection whenever possible for the most stable streaming experience.
Do I need a satellite dish to use IPTV?
No. You connect to Atlas Stream servers via the internet, so no dish or satellite equipment is required.
What is the response time for Atlas Stream Support?
For account activations or technical support tickets, we typically respond within 1 to 2 hours. Our goal is to address all inquiries as quickly as possible, though response times may vary during peak periods.
I uploaded the playlist, but the channels aren’t working on my Smart TV.
First, verify that your playlist is active by testing it on a PC using VLC Player or a standard IPTV Player. If it works there but not on the TV, the issue likely lies with the TV app’s configuration.
The channels work in VLC but not in the SIPTV App.
If you are using a webOS or Tizen TV and your streams are multicast, ensure the UDP to HTTP feature is enabled in the app settings and properly configured on your router.
Can an Android TV device turn my TV into a Smart TV?
Yes! An Android box gives you access to the Google Play Store, making your TV interactive. You can use apps like Gmail, Firefox, and Skype directly on your screen.
Why does the stream buffer during a movie?
Buffering is usually caused by low internet speeds or high network traffic. If you experience this, try pressing “Pause” for 10–15 seconds, then resume. This allows the device to build a larger cache and often eliminates the issue.
I keep getting “Script Errors” in Kodi.
Script errors almost always indicate a connection issue. Check your internet connection or ensure your speed meets the minimum requirements for streaming.
Can I use my phone as a remote for Kodi?
Yes. The Official Kodi Remote (or Kore) app is available for free on both iOS and Android. It provides a full keyboard and remote interface for easy navigation.
My playlist is no longer loading. What should I do?
Please submit a ticket to Atlas Stream Support. We will check to see if your IP address has been flagged or blocked and assist you in restoring access.
Can I use two devices at the same time on one subscription?
No. Standard subscriptions allow for only one active stream at a time. Using multiple connections on a single-stream account may result in your username or IP being blocked. If you need to watch on multiple devices simultaneously, you can purchase an additional connection for a small fee.
What is the quality of the Atlas Stream service?
We provide a premium service with high-level quality control. We monitor for delays, fragmentation, and packet loss to ensure a smooth, high-definition experience. We aim to maintain a superior level of performance compared to other providers in the market.
How much bandwidth does an IPTV stream use?
Our streams use H264 technology for optimal compression. A standard stream uses about 8 Mbps. However, because the protocol can spike when first loading a channel, we recommend a connection of at least 16 Mbps for SD and 30 Mbps or higher for HD/4K channels.
What devices do you support?
We support a wide range of devices, including:
MAG Boxes, Android Smart Phones, and Android Boxes.
Enigma, DreamBox, Vu+.
PC (VLC, Kodi).
Smart TVs (Samsung, LG, Sony, etc.).
